PhD position (f/m/x): Development of next generation of sodium-ion cells and investigation of degradation mechanisms

Your tasks
Development and characterization of sodium-ion cells utilizing novel materials
Preparation and optimization of slurry formulations and electrodes in lab environment
Fabrication and electrical/electrochemical evaluation of sodium-ion cells; post-mortem analysis; advanced physicochemical characterization
Establishing fundamental understanding of degradation mechanism
Evaluation of pre-sodiation approaches
Support transfer of lab results to technical environment (R2R)
Close collaboration with our (pre-)development teams for next steps in cell development in the field of sodium-ion batteries
Collaboration requires a commitment to scientific supervision by a
university or research institution authorized to award doctorates. The thesis is defined jointly with the supervising professorship.
Your skills
Master’s degree in material science, industrial engineering, chemistry, physics, or comparable education profiles
High affinity to experimental tasks and willingness to do a deep dive in battery cell chemistry
Good communication skills, team–minded, ability to work independently
